Job Objective: Provide a safe environment for children participating in the Summer Day Camp Programs.
Essential Functions
Education: Minimum 9th grade education completion, at least 16 years of age.
Experience: Prior experience working with children preferred.
Certifications/Licenses: None
Skills/Abilities
Physical Requirements: Include vision, hearing, and speaking; actively participating in indoor and outdoor activities with children, standing for long periods of time; walking, running, bending, reaching; lifting up to 25 lbs. Travel: None
Driving: None, but driving would be a help.
Working Conditions: The work environment for this position includes an office, gym, and outdoor environment with a low to high noise level.

Essential Functions
- Assist in the supervision of program participants in small groups as they participate in program activities as developed and implemented by the ministry program team
- Participate with campers in a positive, encouraging, age-appropriate manner
- As needed, assist in the implementation and clean up after scheduled activities
- Initiate activities as needed
- Protect the physical, emotional and spiritual well being of all program participants
- Encourage and promote positive relationships amongst all day camp staff
- Create and lead an environment that helps children and youth maintain control so that they can manage their own behavior in a socially appropriate manner. Provide appropriate discipline for children and youth as needed
- As needed, serve as a point of contact for parents/care givers of youth enrolled in day camp
- Follow, enforce and promote all rules, policies and procedures
