The Thrift Store Lead will perform cash register duties, build positive customer relations, and assist the Store Manager in daily operations of the store.
About the role:
- Stock racks, shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise
- Helps set up displays and arranges merchandise to promote sales.
- Remove unmarked items of merchandise to promote sales
- Assist with sorting donations and hanging of clothing as requested. Operates cash register, accepting payment and making change. Wraps or bags merchandise for customers.
- Close and secure store as scheduled.
- Balance cash drawer for your shift and at end of day. Safeguard cash at all times.
- Open and close the store in the absence of the store manager.
- Make daily deposit in absence of store manager.
- Oversee daily work of backroom workers.
- Perform phone duties.
- Responsible to maintain good customer relations by giving prompt, courteous assistance to customers.
- Receive donations and give proper receipt to donors. Assist with unloading the store truck.
- Attend staff and training meetings.
- Use back guard provided when doing any substantial lifting of moving.
- Responsible to follow the policies, guidelines, and procedures of The Salvation Army and governmental regulations.
Education: High School or GED
Experience: Prior retail sales experience preferred
Certifications: Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License with clearance to drive from TSA insurance.
