Position Summary
The Salvation Army Austin Corps is “Doing the Most Good” by providing holistic, person-centered services to individuals and families in need. In addition to worship services and pastoral care, services include short and long-term case management; food, clothing, utility, rent, and housing support; and connections to community partners.
The Driver - DOT is responsible for transporting food, donations, and supplies using The Salvation Army’s box truck and other agency vehicles. Duties include loading and unloading items, maintaining vehicle cleanliness and safety, and supporting programs through reliable delivery services.
Wage: $18 per hour, 15 hours a week

Essential Functions (Approximate Time Spent)
- Food & Donation Transport (95%): Load, unload, and transport food and donations.
- Vehicle Maintenance (5%): Maintain vehicle fleet, including cleaning and scheduling maintenance.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two years of experience in driving, delivery, warehouse operations, or a related field.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, hold a DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate, and meet MVR requirements.
- Must be able to pass all required background checks.

Working Conditions
- Regular physical labor and driving required.
- Must be able to routinely lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.

- Must be able to communicate clearly with colleagues, volunteers, and participants.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- None.
Driving/Travel Requirements
- Drive agency vehicles locally to support the mission.
- Rare out-of-area travel may be required.
