What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camp Program Aide position at The Salvation Army Central Territory?

Position Summary: This position involves assisting in planning and running camp programming along with childcare duties.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Prepare information and activities for camp programming as assigned.
- Light housekeeping duties as assigned.
- Take care of assigned children when needed.
- Participate in camp staff orientation as assigned.
- Participate in all staff meetings.
- Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the position.
- Assist in creating a Christian atmosphere and support the infusion of Christian Outreach through the programming.
- Other similar and related duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalency (preferred).
- Must be at least 17 years old.
- Six months of experience working with youth and active participation in a Christian faith community in support of The Salvation Army’s mission preferred.
- On the job training provided.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Basic computer skills
- Willingness to learn new software as needed.
- Sufficient English proficiency to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, clients, and customers.
- Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions and short written materials, write basic correspondence, and clearly communicate information in one-on-one and small-group situations.
- Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor at all times and uphold the Christian standards and ministries of The Salvation Army in all areas of job responsibilities.
- Must have basic math skills, including the ability to work with U.S. currency and standard measurements (weight, volume, and distance).
- Ability to follow instructions and handle basic problems in routine situations.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
- Current First Aid, CPR and AED, or ability to obtain within 45 days.
