Position Summary: The Activities Staff at The Salvation Army Echo Grove Camp supports the care, safety, and well-being of participants by assisting with daily activities, recreational programs, and group engagement. This role helps maintain facilities, serves meals, enforces safety procedures, and provides general support to counselors and camp operations to ensure a safe and positive experience for all.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the care and well-being of program participants
- Identifies and meets individual program participant needs
- Provides friendly hospitality to those we serve
- Recognizes and provide opportunities for group interaction, problem solving, and decision making
- Assists group or individuals in activity plans including shooting range – archery, rifle & paintball - pool and waterfront activities, and ropes course
- Carries out established roles in enforcing facility safety regulations and implementing emergency procedures
- Keep all activity areas and facilities clean and maintained
- Serves breakfast, lunch, and snacks as needed and assists in the washing of dishes, sweeping, mopping and taking out trash in the kitchen and dining hall
- Perform other duties as assigned
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist counselors with bedtime responsibilities as needed
- Serve in the camp store
- Attend all trainings and staff devotions
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- High School diploma/GED desired, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Training and/or education experience in youth programming, ministry and/or social services preferred
- Training and/or education experience in food and /or food service operations preferred
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Computer Skills:
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365
- Willingness to learn new software as needed
Certificates and Licenses:
- Ability to obtain and maintain training and certifications such as First Aid, CPR, and Blood Pathogen
- Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
Qualifications:
Part Time- 19 hours per week
