What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housing Monitor (7187) position at THE SALVATION ARMY A GEORGIA CORP?
Schedule/Hours: M-F 4:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. (27.5 hours per week).
This position is responsible for:
Accepts and processes residents staying in lodge/shelter overnight; monitors the activity of residents on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security, and compliance to house rules; maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information; ensures that lodge/shelter is maintained in a neat and proper order. Must be able to work evenings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Checks clients into the lodge/shelter; prepares and monitors client intake cards; determines shelter beds for new clients; completes bed check at end of shift.
- Completes required paperwork representing client intake for the day; inputs data into the computer in order to maintain computer records and generate client list.
- Prepares and distributes meal tickets; distributes towels, linens, and personal hygiene items; secures and distributes client medications as required.
- Monitors the activities of the lodge/shelter residents ensuring safety and compliance with house rules; checks the security of all windows and doors; monitors cameras and makes periodic rounds of entire facility; records any unique situations occurring on assigned shift.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly while maintaining control and initiating the proper corrective action.
- Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis. Distance of travel is usually within the same building.
- Ability to work with the public encompassing all types of behaviors.
- Ability to work independently and with limited supervision while enforcing established policies and procedures.
- Work is performed in a lodge/shelter facility where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
