Schedule/Hours: Regular Full-Time Onsite, Monday-Friday 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM ET
This position is responsible for:
Planning, scheduling, monitoring, and participating in the day-to-day general maintenance and repair of Salvation Army buildings, Corps and quarters, grounds, and equipment. This position performs daily maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plans, prioritizes, schedules, assigns, participates, and supervises the work of staff performing maintenance and custodial work.
- Participate in repair work daily and ensures all equipment remains in proper working order and compliance with standard operating procedures and safety standards.
- Supervises, participates in, and monitors the preventive maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, utility equipment and appliances.
- Supervises and monitors all contracted maintenance services.
- Operates a Salvation Army vehicle to pick up and/or deliver materials.
- Administers a departmental budget.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing and some climbing.
- Work requires driving a vehicle and working outdoors daily with exposure to physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, heat, or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

- Two years course work from a vocational or technical school in heating, ventilation and air conditioning, plumbing, electrical and construction trades, AND
- Three years progressively responsible experience performing skilled maintenance and repair work for commercial buildings and grounds with six months in a supervisory capacity, OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Must be cleared by Local Law Enforcement, State of Florida Dept. of Children and Families, FBI Level II background screens and credit checks.
- Valid state driver's License with approved driving record.
