We are looking for a hyper-organized, hands-on Event Planning Intern to support every stage of our Salon seasons, from invitation through install through breakdown. This is not a strategy-only role. We need an executor. Someone who can manage an RSVP spreadsheet, chase a vendor down for a quote, walk a venue, build a run-of-show, and handle whatever comes up day-of without losing the plot.
You will work directly with the founder and a roster of international emerging artists, gaining real exposure to the contemporary art world, collectors, and cultural leaders across New York, London, and Paris.
If you have startup mentality, take ownership without being asked twice, and thrive on the details that make an event feel effortless, this role is for you.
- Support end-to-end planning for Salon events in NYC, with visibility into our London and Paris seasons
- Manage RSVP tracking and guest lists, building and maintaining clean spreadsheets the team can rely on
- Coordinate with vendors. Florists, caterers, rentals, photographers. Get quotes, confirm timelines, and keep everyone on track
- Walk venues, scout new spaces, and build event briefs and run-of-shows
- Help with art install and breakdown alongside artists and the founder
- Run check-in at events. Greet guests, manage the door, and keep the energy warm
- Handle on-site logistics day-of. Setup, vendor coordination, troubleshooting in real time
- Support post-event follow up including invoicing, thank you outreach, and recap documentation
- Coordinate with our Guest Liaison and broader team with clear, proactive communication
- Stay organized across multiple events at once without dropping details
- A hyper-organized executor. You build spreadsheets and you actually maintain them
- Proven experience planning or supporting events (school, work, freelance, or personal projects all count)
- An expert planner and communicator. You over-communicate timelines, flag blockers early, and follow through
- Calm under pressure. Day-of curveballs energize you instead of overwhelming you
- Detail oriented to a fault. You catch the typo, the missing RSVP, the timing conflict
- Comfortable working with vendors, artists, and high-touch guests with warmth and professionalism
- Startup mentality. You move fast, take ownership, and figure things out
- Genuinely interested in contemporary art, hospitality, and cultural storytelling
- A student or recent graduate (school credit required)
- NYC-based and available for in-person events, including evenings and occasional weekend
- Direct exposure to international emerging artists, collectors, and cultural leaders across NYC, London, and Paris
- Hands-on experience producing intimate, high-touch events from the ground up
- A real portfolio of events you helped plan and execute
- Mentorship from the founder and a front row seat to how a global art organization operates
- Networking across the art, hospitality, and cultural worlds
Send your resume, a brief cover letter, and any examples of events or projects you have planned to info@itsthesalon.com.
We can't wait to hear from you!
