Position: Market Associate
Report to: Karina Cornejo-Arce
Schedule: 25 hours a week, part-time, Tuesday-Saturday, Wednesday evenings, and Saturdays.
Location: 47 Leavitt St, Salem, MA
Salary: $18-$20 hourly.

The Salem Pantry (TSP), a leading food access organization on the North Shore, is seeking a Market Associate to assist in maintaining a clean, friendly, well-stocked store. The Market Associate plays an important role in ensuring that the program delivers fresh and healthy food to diverse communities with efficiency, reliability, and dignity.
Responsibilities:
- Greet, check in/out, and register guests.
- Stock shelves, freezers, and refrigerators. Restock from the stockroom as necessary.
- Clean the store prior to opening and after store closing.
- As needed, assist with tasks in the TSP warehouse or at a mobile market.
- Assist with additional tasks or organizational needs when requested
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time. The employee must be able to lift 50 pounds. The employee will work in a retail environment.

Knowledge and Previous Experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
- Prior experience with grocery or food distribution operations preferred.

- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and energy for engaging with people of all backgrounds.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
