Position Overview:
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk plays a key role in our supply chain operations, overseeing the flow of goods in and out of our facility, maintaining accurate inventory, and ensuring a safe, organized workspace. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with experience in inventory purchasing, a positive and enthusiastic approach to their work, and strong communication skills for collaborating with co-workers, vendors, and contractors. A willingness to take on new challenges is also essential to thrive in this role.
This person needs to be able to do the following:
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
- Manage sorting and distribution of client and tenant mail.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring proper packaging and labeling.
- Arrange courier and messenger services for the Space Life Sciences Lab.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using our inventory management system.
- Review invoices and code accordingly for accounts payable
- Assist in organizing and maintaining the shipping and receiving area.
- Collaborate with team members to meet shipping deadlines and manage workloads.
- Maintain inventory and periodically review for accuracy
- Evaluate vendors and compare their products, prices, and services
- Adhere to safety protocols and company policies at all times
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 30lbs.
- Proficient in Microsoft suite of products and able to adapt quickly to new software
- Familiarity with inventory management software.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
