Position Summary:
The Quality Technician role is responsible for all in-process and final inspection and approval of manufactured parts. This role is responsible for all dimensional and visual inspection of in-process and finished parts, the creation of standard inspection documents and final release of product including calibration requirements of equipment.
Essential/Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Following all safety requirements, safety policy and company policy, reporting any observed violation to the superior and hazardous situations to the Safety Committee
- Foster and encourage safe practices on the shop floor
- Actively participate and report work-related safety concerns to the Safety Committee
- Dimensional and visual inspection of all parts to ensure they meet customer requirements. Inspection to include dimensional measurements made via calipers, micrometers, vision systems, etc.
- Responsible for final review and release of customer parts. Includes both dimensional inspection data and visual inspection.
- Identify and segregate all nonconforming materials discovered during inspection.
- Perform acceptance testing as outlined in the standards.
- Perform First Article Inspection and PPAP Inspection per customer requirements.
- Maintain internal calibration procedures for applicable inspection tools.
- Work with Quality Manager on inspection system projects such as data collection, implementing SPC, gage R&R, etc.
- Create and maintain standard work for part-specific inspection requirements.
- Create and maintain inspection work instructions as needed.
- Track and monitor inspection times for high-volume parts, as needed.
- Maintains quality files.
- Finds and interprets specifications using the document control system.
- Assist in various measurement studies and cover QA audit area when needed.
- Participate in daily planning meetings and Material Review Board.
- Perform Internal Audits.
- Maintain 6S activities in QC lab; assist in 6S audits, as necessary.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Thoughtful, fair, and even-handed temperament
- Ability to review and interpret customer drawings.
- Experience making mechanical measurements using calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.
- Experience performing QA auditing and inspection tasks.
- Experience with developing/documenting procedures is preferred.
- Experience developing and maintaining databases is preferred.
- Basic understanding of quality management systems in an IATF16949 or AS9100 is desired.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 1-year related experience, preferred.

· Permanent resident alien of the United States, or
· Protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) as defined by 22CFR120.15.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
