Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging English language arts instruction tailored to students' individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction based on individual learning needs
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports academic and social-emotional growth
- Collaborate with special education specialists, school counselors, and families to ensure coordinated, comprehensive support
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to instructional planning
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with special education requirements
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities
Required Qualifications
- Valid New Hampshire teaching credential in English Language Arts or related field
- Demonstrated experience teaching students with varying educational disabilities and learning needs
- Strong knowledge of instructional strategies for diverse learners, including differentiation and scaffold techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative mindset with a positive, flexible attitude
- Ability to work effectively in a small-school environment with a commitment to school culture and mission
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with special education curriculum and practices
- Familiarity with assistive technology and educational accommodations
- Background in working with adolescents and pre-adolescents
- Experience supporting students with emotional and behavioral challenges
