Assistant Group Home Manager

Qualifications:

• Eligible for employment in the United States and the State of New Jersey;
• At least eighteen years of age, having attained a high school diploma or equivalent;
• At least one year full-time experience as a Care Provider in a group home or similar residential setting
• Some administrative and/or supervisory experience;
• A demonstrated employment record of stability, increasing responsibility;
• Excellent personal and work-related references.

Responsibilities:

The Assistant Manager provides direct care service to residents, and assumes some of the Program Manager’s program and employee supervision and reporting responsibilities when the Program Manager is not scheduled to work. Specific responsibilities include:

• Supervising Care Providers during the work shift to ensure proper resident care and adherence to DDD and Rose House resident care standards are always being met;
• Record keeping in compliance with Rose House, DDD and other governmental and oversight organizations;
• Assisting the Program Manager with scheduling, Care Provider supervision and performance reviews;
• Manage and report unusual incidents to the Executive Director which occur during work shifts.
• Cooperation with Licensing and Division staff for inspections and investigations.

The Assistant Manager’s schedule must be flexible, as they may be called upon to cover shifts in cases of emergency or Care Provider absences.
The Assistant Manager receives extensive training in all areas specified for caregivers, plus orientation about Agency policies and procedures, and course work in management skills where necessary.
