What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Seasonal Gardener position at The Rose Doctor?
The Rose Doctor has been in business for over 25 years. We build and maintain rose and perennial gardens. Roses are a very unique plant, and therefore require a much higher level of care than most other plants. We are in many of our gardens on a weekly basis.
We are looking for a gardener to help serve our customer base. This part time job would be between 12-18 hours per week. The expectation is 4-6 hours per day, 3-4 days per week, beginning the work day 8:00am and working till between 12:00 and 2:00pm. Hours could increase in late August.
Most work is on the east side of Cincinnati. For the right candidate, further career opportunities are available, as well.
This is a seasonal position. Our season runs from mid-March to mid-December. The hours tend to drop off in the fall.
Prior experience working with plants is preferred. We are looking for an individual that has a desire to learn about gardening and is hopefully passionate about it. This individual also needs to be a self-starter. Experience working with roses is not required.
Applicant must have the physical ability and desire to work outside in the sun for extended periods of time, as well as the ability to squat and bend over to work on plants that are close to the ground.
Having a vehicle is a requirement.
