Field Construction Assistant - Residential/Tract
Job Description
Department: Residential/Tract
Reports to: Lead Field Construction Manager
Job Summary
The Field Construction Assistant involved in all stages of roofing, siding and gutter project management by assisting the Lead Field Construction Manager in the production process, coordinating the labor installation on multiple projects, managing the budget, maintaining Roofing Safety compliance, ensuring the correct and timely supply of materials, and monitoring the quality of the products and installation in their assigned territories or subdivisions.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist Lead Field Construction Manager for the effective scheduling and subcontractor coordination
- Monitor projects for timely delivery and proper installation
- Follow established procedures and approved processes
- Closely monitors projects to ensure that target dates are met without sacrificing quality
- Enforce all quality control protocols to ensure work adheres to all industry, local and manufacturers codes
- Trouble shoot issues and develop and implement solutions
- Build and Maintain relationships with builders, vendors, and subcontractors
- Attend meetings with management to discuss any issues in production and/or installation
Required Skills/Competencies
- Ability to follow schedule and complete tasks
- Ability to think ahead and plan
- Ability to perform problem analysis and resolution
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations
- Will be computer literate.
- Record of accomplishing assignments on time
- Must meet driver eligibility
Education and Experience
- Experience with construction/OSHA safety protocols are a plus
- Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) is a plus
- Leadership experience is a plus
- Must have a valid driver’s license and meet our driver eligibility requirements
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to climb ladders
- Must be able to independently set-up 32-foot ladders
- Must be able to stand, walk and bend for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift 80 lbs.
- Must be able to work outdoors in varying and extreme climate conditions
- Must be able to tolerate loud noise and high-stress environment
- Must be able to drive a pick-up, panel, or large truck (if a necessary requirement of position)
Environmental/Other Requirements
- Limited travel with overnight stay is possible
