Preschool Toddler Teacher

• This individual will be responsible for all aspects of their students’ classroom experience, as well as partnerships with parents.
• Curriculum development, classroom management, parent relations and record keeping are all part of this job.
• The individual is responsible for creating a nurturing, respectful, and safe classroom environment that responds to the needs of each student.
• He/she will provide active, fully engaged supervision of the children at all times by offering coverage primarily in his/her classroom and any other classroom as needed to maintain ratios.
• He/she is responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities and experiences to facilitate the children’s development in multiple areas (e.g. social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs).
• He/she is responsible for maintaining indoor and outdoor classroom cleanliness and compliance with state and all relevant regulations and standards.

Requirements

• A passion for working with preschool aged children.
• Previous teaching experience, specifically with preschoolers highly desirable.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and have a High School Diploma or GED
• Must have completed 12 units of Early Childhood Education or Child Development Course Work and 3 units in Infant/Toddler instruction.
• Must be able to successfully pass a Live Scan fingerprint clearance
• Have a negative TB test result within the last year and a health screening report (form LIC 503), Whooping Cough & Measles Boosters/Vaccines
• Child CPR/First Aid Certification a plus.
• Good communication skills.
• Must be willing to change diapers.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
