Founded in 1955, the Don Bosco Technical Institute is an independent, not-for-profit high school located in Rosemead, CA. The school is currently the only fully integrated Catholic, college preparatory, and engineering-science-technology focused school in the United States. While the school historically has served an all-boys student population, for the 2026-27 school year the school has begun the transition to coeducation by accepting its first coed, 9th Grade class.

Responsibilities:

The Assistant Director of Admission is responsible for playing a significant role in the recruitment, evaluation, selection, and enrollment of mission-appropriate students to Bosco Tech. The Assistant Director of Admission reports to the Director of Admission and will work as part of a supportive and dynamic admission team, to facilitate a culture of collaboration, creativity, professionalism, and data-driven decision making.

Admission Responsibilities

  • Engage with prospective students and families through the admission and enrollment process
  • Along with the Director of Admission, assist in developing a recruitment plan in specific territories to promote Bosco Tech.
  • Develop, maintain and strengthen relations with key partners, including feeder school principals, counselors, and middle school teachers.
  • Represent Bosco Tech locally by conducting classroom presentations, attending recruitment fairs, and other related recruitment activities. Travel includes evenings and weekends.
  • Counsel prospective families through the application and enrollment process and facilitate questions related to Bosco Tech and the uniqueness of the technology programs.
  • As a member of the admission committee, review and evaluate applications for admission; handle highly sensitive information with discretion.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of all on campus admission events/activities for prospective students and families such as Open House, Admission workshops, HSPT testing, New Family Orientation, Shadow Days, and campus tours.
  • Utilize FACTS SIS to generate reports and analyze data to support the recruitment and selection process for the Office of Admission.
  • Maintain and organize departmental expense receipts for Business Office financial reporting.
  • Assist and support the administrative team when needed—this includes front desk and business office.

Communication & Engagement

  • Develop compelling communication strategies for prospective families and feeder schools using both Mailchimp and departmental inboxes.
  • Maintain and track admissions communication calendars throughout various stages of the admission funnel.
  • Regularly update and maintain the admissions department’s webpages on the school website, ensuring content accuracy and relevance
  • Design eye-catching posters, flyers, and digital media to promote school events, increasing event awareness and attendance.
  • Ensure promotional materials are aligned with event themes and school branding.
  • Work closely with vendors through the ordering & delivery of promotional materials for the admission events, including brochures, flyers, banners, and posters.
  • Assist in the recruitment and coordination of Bosco Tech student ambassadors for admission and school related functions.
  • Continually seek new opportunities to improve upon existing admission practices.
  • Other duties as assigned to assist the admission and enrollment efforts of Bosco Tech.

Requirements

Education & Experience

A bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) from an accredited college or university. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in admission, recruitment, CRM systems, sales/marketing, and/or other related fields is required. Experience in an educational setting, particularly with independent school admissions, community outreach, or educational administration, is preferred.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, service oriented and able to work well with diverse populations. Excellent project management skills and direct experience in a forward-facing role (such as leading/directing tours, interviews, events, and presentations) are preferred. Must possess strong computer skills and proficiency with a variety of technology and cloud-based computing systems, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Applications. Additionally, bilingual a plus.

Other Requirements

A valid California Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record is required. A criminal background check must be completed before employment can begin.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
