Role Description
We are seeking a bilingual (English & Spanish) paralegal with a minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in family law. Compensation will be based on experience. The firm offers medical benefits, paid holidays, vacation time and sick leave (available after the requisite employment period).
Responsibilities
- Manage attorney’s schedule and calendar, ensuring timelines and deadlines are properly met
- Draft correspondence to opposing counsel and the court
- Communicate with clients to convey updates and information regarding their cases
- Organize legal files and prepare trial notebooks
- Draft pleadings
- Draft subpoenas
- Schedule mediations
- Prepare discovery requests and responses, as well as witness and exhibit lists
- Maintain electronic case records
- E-file motions, orders and Rule 11 agreements
- Manage case documentation and files
- Provide litigation support to attorneys
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) or Paralegal Certificate required; both preferred but not required
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a family law paralegal preferred
- Strong knowledge of Texas civil procedure and the Texas Family Code, including legal terminology and litigation processes
- Experience drafting and responding to motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and open records requests
- Experience preparing divorce petitions, orders, and other family law pleadings
- Experience ordering medical records with Affidavit of Business Records
- Proficiency with legal and office technology, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, ProDoc, MyCase, client database management systems, and Texas e-filing
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and attention to detail skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and a client-focused mindset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
- Professional demeanor with a positive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, staff, and clients
- Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain a consistent 8:30 a.m. start time, with flexibility to work past 5:30 p.m. when needed
- Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs
- Must pass a criminal background check

Pay: $26,000.00 - $68,700.00 per year
