The Rocks All Day Cafe is an Australian-inspired, wellness-forward specialty coffee and all day cafe opening November, 2026 in Marlton, NJ. Every plate reflects an all-day, wellness-forward menu. Every espresso is pulled on La Marzocco equipment. Every interaction reflects a brand that's elevated but approachable — never stiff, never sloppy. We're a small, founder-led team (Amanda and Anders) opening one café with the intention of building something that lasts.
The Role
As a Server at The Rocks, you set the tone for a guest's entire visit. Over the course of a shift you'll always be anchored in the same idea: see the person in front of you, and make their visit better than they expected.
You'll guide guests through our menu and story with real knowledge and genuine warmth, keep tables moving with attentive, well-timed service, and make regulars feel like the place is a little bit theirs. This is a hands-on, high-energy role for someone who loves people as much as they love a well-made cup of coffee, and who can hold both grace and speed at the same time.
What You'll Do
Hospitality & connection
- Welcome every guest with a genuine smile and walk them through The Rocks experience — what we're about, and what to try
- Learn names and orders, and build the kind of relationship that turns a first visit into a daily habit
- Live the Equal Measure Principle on the floor: see the person in front of you, meet their need in full measure and make one moment extraordinary
- Contribute to a team environment that works cohesively to deliver an exceptional guest experience
Product knowledge & craft
- Know our coffee, food, and drink menu deeply enough to educate and excite guests about it — where it comes from, what's in it, why we chose it
- Hold the highest standard for coffee and beverage quality, acting as a gatekeeper for what leaves the bar
- Speak to specials and new items with genuine enthusiasm, not a script
Service & speed
- Service tables with an eye for timing — refills, courses, and check-ins at the right moment
- Work closely with the kitchen to ensure accurate, efficient ordering and timely food placement
- Balance warmth with speed: guests should never feel rushed, and never feel forgotten
Cleanliness & spaces
- Keep your section and shared spaces organized and spotless throughout the shift
- Complete opening and closing procedures accurately and on time
- Maintain our grooming and uniform standards
What You'll Bring
Required
- At least 2 years of experience in a full-service restaurant or café
- A genuine passion for hospitality — you make people happy, and it shows
- Ability to work in a high-energy, fast-paced environment without losing warmth or attention to detail
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
- Reliability: you show up on time, communicate early if something changes, and can work a schedule that includes early mornings, weekends, and holidays
Preferred
- DOH accreditation or ServSafe certification
- Familiarity with wellness-forward or health-conscious menus (allergen awareness, dietary modifications)
Above all: you're a team player who thrives working alongside others, smart, low-ego, and upbeat. You learn quickly, adapt well to a brand-new opening team finding its rhythm, and you genuinely enjoy making someone's day a little better.
