Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES SHALL INCLUDEBUTNOTBELIMITEDTOTHEFOLLOWING:
Performs all duties associated with towing aircraft. Performs daily maintenance and inspection of tow vehicles and tow bars. Performs tow team duties IAW the requirements of applicable directives and in strict compliance with safety standards. Performs the duties of brake rider for aircraft towing operations. Performs related tow crew duties at other times. Conducts radio communications over the maintenance and tower networks as required. Tows and moves aircraft IAW applicable directives. Installs/removes ground wires and chocks, and connects and disconnects tow bars, stiff knees, and other items. Assists in the daily maintenance and inspection of vehicles and tow bars. Assists in towing, covering, and mooring aircraft IAW applicable directives. Performs duties as tow vehicle operator, as directed. Performs duties as a wing/tail walker to ensure adequate clearance of aircraft surfaces from obstructions. Reviews aircraft records prior to performing towing operations. Annotates maintenance actions in aircraft records and is knowledgeable in CAMS documentation. Practices good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times. May be required to be qualified on different MDS aircraft. Shall assist other personnel and work centers as directed. Must promote Company values, policies, and standards of conduct. Must be customer oriented and ensure professional coordination with Operations and other base agencies. Shall perform other duties assigned to include TDY and travel. Must be able to work day shift, night shift, or weekend duty as required. Receives cross-utilization training (CUT) and is qualified to perform those maintenance tasks.
