Job Description
Position Summary:
The Lead Mechanic oversees all aircraft maintenance activities in support of the Initial Pilot Training program at Pueblo Training Center. This position manages The Rockhill Group’s (TRG) DA-42 maintenance program, personnel, compliance with FAA and contract standards, and maintains aircraft availability to support the daily flying schedule.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Supervise and schedule TRG maintenance technicians to meet daily, weekly, and monthly flight schedules.
- Ensure all DA-42 aircraft meet FAA, manufacturer, and contract airworthiness requirements.
- Oversee parts inventory, spares, and specialized maintenance support equipment.
- Maintain maintenance logs, documentation, and reporting in compliance with FAA and TRG standards.
- Liaise with FAA QA inspectors during audits, safety reviews, and compliance checks.
- Provide mentorship and training to assigned maintenance staff.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for TRG maintenance.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification (proof required).
- 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience, including multi-engine aircraft.
- Experience supervising or leading maintenance teams.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations, Safety Management Systems (SMS), and quality assurance practices.
- Prior experience with DA-42 or similar Diamond aircraft.
- Background supporting flight training programs (Part 141 or military).
- Strong leadership, scheduling, and communication skills.
