The Research Assistant will work closely with other members of the laboratory on projects exploring the physiological importance of circadian rhythms, sleep, and aging in Drosophila at the molecular, cellular and organismal levels. They will assist in fly husbandry, tissue dissections, and behavioral analyses, as well as DNA/RNA-seq analysis and confocal imaging. They will produce and analyze data, think critically, get exposure to primary literature, and communicate their research findings.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on various factors, including but not limited to organizational budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The hiring range provided represents The Rockefeller University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with other lab members to support ongoing research projects
- Conduct fly husbandry, including routine care, transfers, stock maintenance and organization of fly cultures
- Assist with experimental setup, data collection, analysis and presentation of research findings
- Maintain lab equipment and research supplies, including routine upkeep, ordering, pickup and distribution
- Perform related duties and responsiblities as needed to support efficient laboratory operations
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or related field
- Prior hands-on laboratory experience working with Drosophila
- Familiarity with basic wet-lab techniques (e.g. pipetting, sterile technique)
- Experience in molecular biology techniques
- Basic coding or data analysis experience (e.g., Python, R)
- Confocal or fluorescence microscopy experience
