Position Summary

This is a night shift position.

50 Plus hours weekly

Join our dynamic heavy industrial construction team as an Electrical Journeyman, where your expertise will power large-scale projects and drive innovation in complex environments. The Electrical Journeyman is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment in heavy industrial construction environments. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, the ability to work from blueprints and specifications, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and test electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings
• Run conduit (rigid, EMT, PVC), pull wire, and terminate conductors
• Install and connect motors, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, and instrumentation
• Perform troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems and components
• Ensure all work complies with applicable codes (NEC), standards, and project specifications
• Conduct inspections and testing of installed systems
• Work with low, medium, and high-voltage systems as required
• Coordinate with supervisors, foremen, and other trades to ensure efficient workflow
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition
• Mentor apprentices and less experienced electricians

Position Requirements: Qualifications

Must pass Electrician test administered at hire in
Must have tools
High school diploma or GED required
Completion of an electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent experience
Valid Journeyman Electrician license (state-specific, if required)
4–8 years of industrial electrical construction experience preferred
Strong knowledge of NEC and industrial electrical systems
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
Experience with industrial environments such as power plants, refineries, manufacturing facilities, or chemical plants

Work Environment

Industrial construction sites (plants, mills, refineries, etc.)
Exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and industrial hazards
Work at heights, confined spaces, and around heavy equipment
May require overtime, weekends, and travel depending on project needs

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 40 pounds
Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing
Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity

Safety Requirements

Comply with all company and site-specific safety policies
Participate in job safety analyses (JSAs) and toolbox talks
Proper use of PPE at all times (hard hat, gloves, FR clothing, etc.)
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and electrical safety compliance

Preferred Certifications (Not Required)

NCCER Electrical Certification
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety)
First Aid/CPR
