The Riviera Club is committed to creating a nurturing and educational environment for all kids who attend any of our top-notch Camp programs. The Riviera Club was established in 1933 and has one of the largest outdoor pools in the United States. As a Camp Counselor you will learn that teamwork, attention to detail, and communication are essential to everyone’s success. You may find yourself working with a variety of age groups, activities, as well as other Camp Counselors assisting you throughout the shift. All positions require great attention to detail, while the safety and enjoyment of all campers are maintained. Everyone is responsible for the safety and enrichment of the campers and we take pride in the care we give the campers of our Members and their guests!
A Camp Counselor’s Responsibilities include
- Work with group of campers and provide a fun, safe and exciting camp experience
- Cooperate with fellow Counselors and Camp Director
- Greet families and campers upon arrival
- Support Camp Director in establishing rules and emergency procedures with campers
- Participate in all camp activities
- Supervise daily swim time in a hands-on manner from within the water (lifeguard certification not required)
- Help out where needed and lead activities when asked to by the Camp Director
- Complete other duties, as assigned
- Assist in working and Club Events or Banquets when requested
- Ensure that the site is kept clean, organized, and free of litter.

- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and handle a high-volume workload
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility in scheduling
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Commit to 100% Member satisfaction, 100% of the time
- Ability to help children grow in character, experiences and insights
- Ability to guard the health and well-being of campers at all times
- Capable of sustaining energy for participation in a full day's worth of activities
- Prior experience working with children
- Enthusiastic, Responsible, Dependable, Consistent, Level-Headed, Flexible, and Calm in all situations
- CPR/First Aid Certified OR willing to become certified before the summer begins
- Must have prior experience working with children; education classes, summer camp, youth programs, recreation, or in a related field.
- Must be 15 years or older
- Ability to work as a member of a team and the ability to accomplish tasks without constant direction.
Compensation varies on qualifications
