Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic, organized, and community-minded Chamber Administrator to support the daily operations of the Chamber while leading key membership and events initiatives. This is a 30-hour-per-week position. This role is central to building and maintaining strong relationships with members, prospective members, community partners, vendors, and local leaders across the 10 towns served by the Chamber in the River Valley. The ideal candidate will bring strong administrative skills, excellent customer service, a passion for community engagement, and the ability to coordinate successful events that enhance member value, increase visibility, and support the Chamber’s overall mission.
Duties
- Serve as a primary point of contact for Chamber members, prospective members, community partners, vendors, and the public, providing professional, welcoming, and timely communication.
- Build, maintain, and strengthen Chamber membership by supporting recruitment, retention, engagement, renewals, and member outreach efforts.
- Develop and implement membership initiatives that increase member value, encourage participation, and identify opportunities for growth across the 10 towns in the River Valley served by the Chamber.
- Plan, coordinate, promote, and oversee Chamber events, including logistics, venue coordination, vendor communication, catering arrangements, registrations, sponsorship support, and day-of event operations.
- Assist with event marketing and membership communications, including promotional materials, social media, email updates, newsletters, and other outreach efforts to increase event attendance and member engagement.
- Maintain accurate membership records, event registrations, contact lists, sponsorship information, and other administrative files and databases.
- Attend monthly board meetings, record meeting minutes, and prepare financial reports for review by the Board.
- Support the Chamber’s financial and administrative processes by monitoring event and membership-related budgets, tracking expenses, preparing reports, and ensuring cost-effective execution.
- Represent the Chamber professionally at events, meetings, and community functions throughout the River Valley, fostering positive relationships and promoting the Chamber’s mission.
- Negotiate and coordinate with vendors, venues, caterers, and suppliers to secure quality services and favorable terms for Chamber events and programs.
- Provide excellent guest and member services during events by ensuring smooth operations, addressing attendee needs, and creating a welcoming environment.
Requirements
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, events, and member needs simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with members, businesses, community leaders, vendors, volunteers, and the public.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships, support membership growth, and provide high-quality customer service.
- Experience planning, coordinating, or supporting events, meetings, programs, or community engagement activities.
- Ability to assist with membership recruitment, retention, renewals, sponsorships, and event participation to support Chamber revenue and visibility.
- Comfort using common office technology, membership databases, email platforms, social media, and basic reporting tools.
- Experience using QuickBooks and Microsoft Word is preferred.
- Experience with budgeting, expense tracking, vendor coordination, or event financial management is preferred.
- Familiarity with fundraising, sponsorship development, local business engagement, or nonprofit/community-based organizations is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required, as travel throughout the Chamber’s 10-town River Valley service area will be necessary.

Pay: $28,000.00 - $31,000.00 per year
