Experienced Server/Bartender At The River Merchant

Featuring a seasonal patio that overlooks the Cuyahoga River, the River Merchant is Kent's premier riverfront restaurant. We are located at 911 North Mantua Street in Kent, OH; our hours of operation are: 5 PM–9:30 PM (Mon), 11 AM–9:30 PM (Tue–Thu and Sun) and 11 AM–10:30 PM (Fri–Sat).

We are seeking a talented and experienced Bartender/Server who is career oriented, with a craft cocktail and wine background. Summary of job posting:

• Experienced Craft Bartender that has exceptional table service
• 30-40 Hours a Week Sunday Availability - Absolutely Necessary
• Willing to train and work as a server as needed

Qualifications:

• 2 years of prior bartending experience (Required)
• 3-5 years of prior serving experience (Required)
• Craft Cocktail Knowledge / Experience
• Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
• Positive attitude and direct communication skills, including the ability to vocalize properly, listen effectively, and provide insightful feedback as needed
• Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean
• Ability to memorize menus / recipes
• High integrity with a great attendance record
• Able to learn and adapt to new environments
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lb. climb ladders, and perform manual tasks
• Able to work in varying temperature conditions, particularly in the summer months (patio)

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a clean and orderly bar or workstation
• Restock and replenish inventory and supplies
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations
• Interact with guests and take food and beverage orders
• Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
• Check customer's identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
• Assess customers needs and preferences and make recommendations
• Serve food, beer, wine and liquor pours
• Mix ingredients to prepare craft cocktails
• Properly greeting and creating dialogue with guests to create a great experience
• Correctly take orders from guests and communicate with kitchen and bar
• Running food, pre-bussing, and final bussing tables
• Setting up and preparing for shifts as well as cleaning up at the end of shifts

Shift duration availability (M–S)

• Day shift: 6-8 hr (9 or 10 AM to 4 or 5 PM)
• Night shift: 6–8 hr (3 or 4 PM to 10 or 11 PM)
• Mid-shift: Varies
