Are You a Hands-On Accounting Professional with Advanced QuickBooks Experience and a Passion for Process Improvement?

THE RIGHT STAFF is partnering with a privately held business seeking an experienced Temporary Accountant to support a critical transition within its finance function. This role will focus on knowledge transfer, process documentation, day-to-day accounting support, and helping establish a smooth path to a long-term accounting solution. The ideal candidate is a seasoned accounting professional who can step in quickly, work independently, and bring strong QuickBooks expertise to a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

• Pay: $40-50/hr DOE
• Location: Onsite
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday
• Employment type: Temporary (2-4 month engagement)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations using QuickBooks.
• Partner with the current accountant to facilitate a smooth transition of responsibilities and institutional knowledge.
• Document accounting processes, workflows, controls, and procedures to create standardized operating guidelines.
• Support accounting activities related to both business operations and associated personal asset management.
• Review existing financial practices and identify opportunities for improved efficiency and consistency.
• Assist leadership in maintaining accurate financial records throughout the transition period.
• Collaborate with management to support the implementation of longer-term accounting solutions.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting tasks, reconciliations, and reporting requirements.
  
  

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks with the ability to quickly assess and manage existing accounting systems.
• Experience documenting accounting policies, procedures, and business processes.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial record maintenance.
• Ability to independently prioritize work and manage multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
• Availability to begin immediately or on short notice.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting closely held businesses, family-owned organizations, or multi-entity accounting environments.
• Background assisting with operational transitions, process improvements, or accounting department restructures.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
