Description:Position Summary
The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout Ridge RTC’s residential and clinical spaces. This role plays an important part in ensuring the facility is welcoming and well-maintained for clients, staff, and visitors. In addition to routine custodial tasks, the Custodian supports the maintenance team with light facility-related duties and assists with preparing client spaces for move-in and move-out transitions.
Primary Responsibilities
General Cleaning & Sanitation
- Perform daily cleaning of common areas, bathrooms, hallways, offices, and client dormitories.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect all appropriate surfaces and flooring.
- Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper disposal of waste.
- Restock paper products, soap, and sanitizing supplies in designated areas.
- Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces and shared equipment.
- Alert the Facilities Manager of any safety hazards, urgent repairs, or facility concerns.
Client Move-In / Move-Out Preparation
- Clean and sanitize dorm rooms and sleeping areas between client discharges and new admissions.
- Assist in the setup of clean linens, supplies, and room readiness.
- Document and report any damage, maintenance needs, or missing items in dorm rooms.
Light Grounds Work
- Maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas immediately surrounding buildings, including sweeping entryways, removing litter, and tidying sidewalks and pathways.
- Support seasonal upkeep tasks such as shoveling entryways or salting walkways, as directed.
Support to Facilities & Maintenance
- Assist the maintenance team with light duties, such as moving furniture, hanging items and minor repairs.
Requirements:
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, climb stairs/ladders, and be on feet for extended periods.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting the sensitive nature of a residential treatment environment.
- Maintains a professional and respectful attitude within a residential treatment setting for adolescents.
Salary : $18 - $21
