Position: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) / Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
Location: Richland Center, WI
Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Variable Days or Nights)
Weekend Rotation: Every 4th weekend
Status: Full-Time
The Richland Hospital is dedicated to caring, educating, and healing while putting our patients above all else. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Medical Technologist (MT), or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join our Laboratory Department.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced laboratory professional or a recent graduate looking to expand their skills in a full-service hospital laboratory. You'll work alongside a collaborative healthcare team and play a vital role in delivering accurate, timely diagnostic results that impact patient care every day.
Position Summary
The Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Laboratory Scientist provides information essential for patient diagnosis and treatment by collecting, processing, analyzing, and reporting laboratory test results. The successful candidate will perform testing in multiple laboratory disciplines, including:
- Chemistry
- Hematology
- Immunohematology (Blood Bank)
- Coagulation
- Urinalysis
- Immunology
- Microbiology
- Blood Gases
- Molecular Testing
- Toxicology
Responsibilities
- Perform testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Immunology, Microbiology, Blood Gases, Molecular Testing, and Toxicology.
- Collect, process, and analyze patient specimens.
- Perform venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
- Analyze, verify, and report accurate test results.
- Maintain quality control and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
MLS/MT
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field.
MLT
- Associate degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program.
Additional Requirements
- ASCP certification preferred; certification-eligible candidates encouraged to apply.
- CPR certification required before working independently.
