Position Summary
This part-time, Deflection/Veteran Outreach Peer Support Specialist provides trauma-informed, person-centered peer support to individuals participating in The Reveille Foundation’s Deflection/Veteran Peer Support Program. This position emphasizes engagement, coordination of care, and navigation of systems to support clients in achieving stability and recovery. The Peer Support Specialist uses their lived experience to connect with participants, model recovery, and provide non-clinical support across multiple areas of need.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Provide peer-based engagement and intake support for new clients entering the Deflection/Pacific Source Peer Support Program.
· Assist participants in accessing and enrolling in Oregon Health Plan (OHP) or other health insurance coverage.
· Support clients in establishing care with a Primary Care Physician, behavioral health provider, or other specialists.
· Coordinate and provide transportation support for essential appointments, including medical, court, housing, and benefits-related visits.
· Assist participants in obtaining vital documents such as state-issued ID, Social Security card, and birth certificate.
· Collaborate with community partners and internal staff to ensure appropriate linkage and follow-up on services.
· Attend and participate in multidisciplinary staffing, team meetings, and supervision.
· Maintain appropriate documentation of services provided in EHR, HMIS, and other required databases.
· Promote recovery and model healthy boundaries, coping strategies, and hope.
· Provide crisis de-escalation and wellness checks as needed.
· Cross-train and provide coverage across all Reveille Foundation programs as directed by the Program Director.
· Uphold confidentiality, professionalism, and program policies at all times.
Qualifications
· Must identify as a person with lived experience in recovery from substance use and/or mental health challenges.
· Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM) or Peer Support Specialist (PSS) certification preferred or willing to obtain within 6 months.
· Familiarity with community resources, recovery principles, and trauma-informed care.
· Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Valid driver's license and ability to provide transportation support as needed.
- Familiar with community resources in the Florence, Oregon area.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to be added onto company insurance.
- Must be willing to travel to Eugene for training.
- Looking for an experienced CRM, THW, or PSS.
Work Environment
Primarily community-based with travel between Eugene and Creswell sites and client appointments. May include evening or weekend hours depending on client needs.
