Duties
- Perform a wide range of hair services such as cutting, coloring, styling, and applying hair extensions with precision and artistry
- Consult with clients to understand their desired looks and recommend suitable treatments based on hair type, personal style, and lifestyle
- Maintain proper cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with Pennsylvania law
- Use salon software like Glossgenius to schedule appointments, manage client records, and process sales efficiently
- Educate clients on hair care routines, product recommendations, and upselling retail items to enhance their experience
- Assist with front desk responsibilities including greeting clients, managing bookings, and handling inquiries professionally
- Mentor junior team members or apprentices to foster skill development and team collaboration
- Stay current with trends, techniques, and product knowledge
- Contribute positively to team culture and salon standards
Requirements
- Valid PA Cosmetology or Barbering license with comprehensive knowledge of hair styling techniques
- Minimum 2 years of full-time hair-centered cosmetology work
- Experience with specialty services such as hair extensions is preferred
- Strong understanding of color theory for customized coloring services
- Proficiency in salon software such as Glossgenius for appointment management and retail transactions is preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of sanitation practices to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff
- Excellent communication skills to effectively connect with diverse clients and team members
- Ability to upsell products confidently while maintaining excellent customer service standards
