Our new COOP Allston Concept Store, located within Harvard’s Enterprise Research Campus at the Atlas Hotel, is a thoughtfully curated neighborhood destination serving students, hotel guests, local residents, and visitors. This store blends retail, events, and community activation in an intimate, welcoming environment.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead the opening and daily operations of our new concept store. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who is passionate about retail, people, and community-building.
The Store Manager is responsible for driving sales performance, leading and developing a high‑performing team, maintaining visual and operational excellence, and delivering an elevated guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and motivate store team members to achieve sales and service goals
- Hire, train, and schedule team members to meet operational needs
- Maintain an active presence on the sales floor and provide coverage as needed
- Understand monthly sales goals and develop strategies to maximize profitability
- Ensure excellent customer service and resolve guest concerns according to company standards
- Manage POS operations, cash handling, payroll, and store budgets
- Receive and process shipments; maintain accurate back stock organization and inventory control
- Complete daily and monthly sales and operational reports accurately
- Coordinate and support in‑store events in partnership with the Home Office
- Maintain visual merchandising standards and overall store appearance
- Participate in weekly conference calls with operations, inventory, and merchandising teams
Qualifications
- 4 years of retail management experience required
- Strong background in customer service, sales leadership, and store operations
- Experience training and developing teams to meet performance and sales goals
- Proficiency with POS systems; experience with Shopify POS preferred
- Familiarity with inventory management and shipment processing
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and self‑motivated
- Ability to troubleshoot basic technology and operational issues independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; NetSuite experience a plus
- Availability to work days, nights, and some weekends; full responsibility for store operating hours
Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
