Our client is seeking a highly organized, collaborative, and proactive Assistant Sales Manager to support the growth and execution of key retail accounts. This role serves as a critical bridge between Sales Managers and cross-functional teams, helping drive product development, customer communication, forecasting accuracy, and post-purchase order execution.
The Assistant Sales Manager will play a hands-on role in managing timelines, coordinating product launches, supporting customer meetings, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth communication between internal departments and retail partners. Key Responsibilities
- Support Sales Managers in the day-to-day management of key retail accounts
- Oversee post-purchase order execution to ensure projects remain on schedule and customer expectations are met
- Serve as a point of contact for customer communication related to product updates, timelines, approvals, and issue resolution
- Attend and contribute to customer-facing meetings, product kickoff meetings, and internal strategy discussions
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Purchasing, Product Development, and other internal teams to ensure timely execution of projects
- Manage and track pre-production samples, approvals, and customer-driven product revisions
- Monitor timelines, product development milestones, and reporting tools to maintain accurate forecasting and operational visibility
- Assist with sales reporting, profitability tracking, and forecast reconciliation
- Help identify opportunities for product expansion, new item development, and account growth
- Ensure accurate maintenance of product setup documentation and internal systems
- Support operational troubleshooting related to product delivery, quality concerns, and customer requests
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, buyers, and internal stakeholders through consistent communication and follow-through
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2 years of experience in sales support, account management, retail sales, retail buying, merchandising, product development, consumer goods experience, or a related field
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Comfortable participating in customer-facing meetings and presentations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with major retail accounts
