The Resource Connection is seeking a dedicated, mission-driven leader to serve as our Support Services Manager. In this pivotal role, you will champion the wellbeing of children and families by overseeing disability and mental health services within our Early Childhood Programs (Head Start/Early Head Start).

The Role at a Glance

Reporting to the Director for Early Childhood Programs, you will be the agency's subject matter expert on Head Start Performance Standards related to disabilities and mental health.

Your core impact areas include:

  • Clinical Oversight: Observing children in classrooms and homes to identify "at-risk" needs and coordinating follow-up treatments.
  • Leadership & Coaching: Supervising the Instructional Support Coach and providing "CLASS" observations and training to teaching staff.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Drafting MOUs and interagency agreements, and serving as the primary liaison between families and community mental health resources.
  • Family Advocacy: Coaching parents on behavioral strategies and guiding them through the IEP/IFSP process.
  • Compliance: Ensuring all services meet rigorous federal and state regulations.

What You Bring to the Table

We are looking for a candidate who balances administrative excellence with a heart for service.

Education & Experience:

  • Degree: Baccalaureate degree (preferably in Disability or Mental Health services).
  • ECE Coursework: Minimum of 24 units in ECE/Child Development, 6 units in Administration, and 2 units in Adult Supervision.
  • Experience: At least 4 years of teaching experience in early childhood programs.
  • Reliability: Must be CLASS reliable or become CLASS reliable within 6 months of employment 

Key Skills:

  • Deep understanding of behavioral intervention techniques and developmental stages (Infant through Preschool).
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and aggregate data into concise reports.
  • Exceptional communication skills for facilitating groups and training diverse audiences.
  • Experience navigating the complexities of special education and mental health systems.

Special Requirements

  • Clearance: Ability to pass a criminal background check and physical exam.
  • Health: Proof of negative TB test, required immunizations, and current influenza shot.
  • Travel: Valid California driver's license and proof of insurance (some travel to centers and night meetings required).
  • Physical: Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and remain seated/active in a classroom environment as needed.
