The Night Auditor is responsible for assisting guests with their overnight needs while ensuring the hotel’s front desk and accounting operations run smoothly. This position supports overnight guest services, completes the nightly reconciliation of hotel accounts, and helps ensure an accurate transition from the day shift. The ideal candidate will provide friendly and professional service while remaining organized and attentive to detail during overnight hours.
Responsibilities
The Night Auditor will:
- Check in guests and assist with the check-out process as needed.
- Answer phones and assist guests with questions, requests, and reservations.
- Respond to guest concerns, requests, and emergencies in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist guests with overnight needs and provide excellent customer service.
- Complete nightly reconciliation of hotel accounts and transactions.
- Balance the cash drawer and accurately record receipts.
- Review and investigate out-of-balance accounts and work to resolve discrepancies.
- Review daily transactions and ensure financial records are accurate.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk area throughout the overnight shift.
- Communicate important guest or operational information to the appropriate team members.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Hotel Front Desk Agent, Receptionist, Night Auditor, or similar hospitality role preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional attitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of hotel accounting and reconciliation procedures preferred.
- Comfortable using computers and hotel front desk or property management systems.
- Familiarity with online travel and hotel booking platforms, such as Booking.com and TripAdvisor, preferred.
- Ability to work independently and remain focused during overnight hours.
- Must be available to work overnight shifts.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Job Type: Part-time
