We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Memory Care Engagement Director to lead the development and implementation of engaging, person-centered programs for our Memory Care residents. In this vital role, you will foster meaningful connections, promote cognitive and emotional well-being, and create a vibrant community environment tailored to the unique needs of individuals living with dementia and other memory-related conditions. Responsibilities
- Design, coordinate, and oversee a variety of engaging activities and events tailored specifically for residents with memory care needs, including recreational therapy sessions and social programs.
- Build strong rapport with residents by understanding their individual histories, preferences, and abilities to personalize engagement strategies effectively.
- Lead, train, and support staff members in delivering exceptional memory care programming, ensuring adherence to best practices in dementia care and senior living standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including nursing staff, social workers, and family members—to develop comprehensive care plans that promote resident well-being.
- Manage scheduling of resident activities, coordinate community events, and ensure smooth execution of daily programs that foster socialization and cognitive stimulation.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed while encouraging independence through meaningful engagement.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to program participation, resident progress, and incident reports to support continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience in personal care environment with a focus on memory care or geriatrics.
- Strong background in program development, and recreational therapy tailored for seniors with cognitive impairments.
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia care techniques, and best practices in senior living facilities.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, team members, and community partners.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team with compassion, organization, and enthusiasm for enhancing resident quality of life.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and scheduling purposes.
- Experience working with residents in a Memory Care.
- Ability to manage schedules efficiently while balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate approach to aging issues counseling and social work principles related to senior care.
