Reporting to the Senior Contracts and Grants Manager, the Subaward Coordinator provides administrative support for sponsored program awards within the System Administration Sponsored Programs Office (SPO), Research Foundation Central Office (RFCO), and campus activities. This role serves as a primary resource for Principal Investigators (PIs) and research administration staff, collaborating closely with SUNY faculty and Research Foundation staff to facilitate subaward activities.
Duties and Responsibilites
- Manage a large portfolio of subawards, including monitoring, tracking, and reporting.
- Develop, issue, negotiate, and track outgoing subaward agreements and amendments for federal, state, and private sponsors in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Create and maintain policies and procedures, templates, and tools related to subaward activities.
- Stay current on laws, regulations, and best practices governing subaward agreements.
- Provide training and guidance on subaward compliance and management during proposal development.
- Ensure timely processing of all subawards and amendments.
- Review prime award documents and coordinate subrecipient monitoring with campuses.
- Ensure compliance with Federal Uniform Guidance (2CFR200), sponsor terms, and RFSUNY policies.
- Assist campuses on the Subaward Monitoring and Management process and advise on risk assessment and mitigation strategies, to reduce risk exposure.
- Deliver specialized training and mentoring to campus staff on subaward processes.
- Prepare and submit FFATA reports, as required.
- Maintain a tracking system of subaward activity and status.
- Foster a collaborative and customer-focused work environment.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements:
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree and 1 - 3 years of experience managing contracts or grants, preferably in a sponsored programs environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Information:
Compensation for this position: The compensation for this role is between $62.353 - $70,208. The pay will depend on a variety of factors that may include but are not limited to experience, education, training, and certifications.
