Job Summary

The Religious Coalition for Community Renewal (RCCR) is seeking a compassionate, dependable individual to serve in a blended role supporting two of our community programs.

This position is split between:

Transitional Storage Center – assisting individuals experiencing homelessness by providing access to secure storage, showers, laundry, clothing, and housing support.

Samaritan Inn – serving as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) in a WVARR-certified recovery residence, providing encouragement, mentorship, and recovery support to men rebuilding their lives.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about helping individuals experiencing homelessness, recovery, and housing instability.

Primary Responsibilities

Welcome and assist participants with dignity and respect.
Complete client intakes, documentation, and HMIS data entry.
Monitor shower, laundry, and storage services while maintaining a clean, safe environment.
Clean and restock hygiene facilities and common areas.
Assist with program reporting, documentation, and administrative tasks.
Support housing efforts by assisting with landlord outreach and housing-related data entry.
Provide peer support, encouragement, and recovery coaching to Samaritan Inn residents.
Assist residents with recovery planning, goal setting, employment, healthcare, transportation, and community resources.
Help facilitate recovery groups, house meetings, and daily resident activities.
Maintain appropriate documentation, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.
Help create a safe, welcoming, trauma-informed environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Current WV Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) Certification (or ability to obtain within required timeframe).
Valid West Virginia driver's license.
Lived recovery experience preferred for the PRSS portion of the position.
Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, recovery, behavioral health, or substance use preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict de-escalation skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
Comfortable using Microsoft Office and electronic data systems (HMIS experience preferred).
Ability to perform light cleaning, lift supplies, bend, walk, and stand for extended periods.

Schedule

Monday–Thursday:
8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Friday:
9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Employees who successfully complete the initial grant-funded employment period may become eligible for regular full-time positions, including the organization's full benefits package, as opportunities become available.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
