The Redford Center is seeking a collaborative and results-driven Institutional Giving Manager to join our team. Based in the Bay Area, this role will manage and grow our foundation and corporate fundraising portfolio, steward institutional partners, and translate our programmatic impact into compelling funding opportunities that advance our mission of environmental storytelling.

About The Position

The Institutional Giving Manager is a key member of the Development team, responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of foundation and corporate funders. This role oversees the full grant lifecycle from prospect research and proposal writing to reporting and stewardship, while building strong relationships with program officers and institutional partners. Working closely with the Director of Development, Executive Director, and a small development team, the Manager collaborates cross-functionally with program and finance staff to produce compelling proposals, reports, and funder updates that align funding with organizational impact, as well as with board and advisory board members to nurture funder relationships and facilitate introductions to prospective funders.

What You’ll Do

Institutional Fundraising Strategy

  • Develop and execute an annual institutional fundraising plan with clear revenue goals and a defined pipeline.
  • Manage and grow an established portfolio of foundation and corporate funders; partner with the Director of Development and Executive Director to cultivate, steward, and close values-aligned gifts.
  • Research and qualify new institutional prospects and funding opportunities aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Development on annual revenue targets and fundraising planning.

Grant Writing & Management

  • Write and edit compelling LOIs, proposals, and reports that clearly articulate programs, impact, and funding needs.
  • Partner with program and finance teams to gather narratives, outcomes, data, and budgets.
  • Ensure accurate, timely submission of all proposals, reports, agreements, and funder communications.
  • Manage application requirements, reporting deadlines, and compliance across all institutional funders.

Relationship Cultivation & Stewardship

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with program officers, corporate partners, and institutional donors.
  • Prepare leadership and staff for funder meetings by developing briefings, talking points, and materials.
  • Attend and occasionally present at funder meetings, networking events, and donor engagements, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Stay current on foundation trends, funder priorities, and sector best practices.

Data, Reporting & Systems

  • Maintain and improve grants management systems to track deadlines, stewardship touchpoints, deliverables, and revenue projections.
  • Keep accurate, up-to-date records in HubSpot, Asana, and shared systems, including pipeline updates, awards, communications, and forecasts.

You Have

You’ll be a great fit if:

  • 4 years of experience in institutional fundraising, grants management, or a related development role, ideally in a nonprofit setting.
  • Strong grant writing and editing skills, with the ability to clearly articulate programs, impact, and budgets for diverse institutional audiences.
  • Proven experience managing an established portfolio of foundation and corporate funders, with the ability to step into and steward existing relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience managing multiple deadlines, deliverables, and funding requirements at once.
  • Familiarity with CRM and project management tools (e.g., HubSpot, Asana, or similar systems) and maintaining accurate records.
  • Experience supporting or participating in funder meetings, briefings, and relationship-building efforts.

You Are

  • A clear, persuasive storyteller who enjoys translating complex programs into compelling, funder-ready narratives.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with the ability to anticipate needs and manage timelines independently.
  • Relationship-oriented and comfortable building trust with program officers, corporate partners, and internal colleagues.
  • Collaborative and thrive in a small team environment where work is shared and cross-functional.
  • Strategic but hands-on, able to think about long-term fundraising growth while executing day-to-day grant work.
  • Adaptable and calm under pressure, able to juggle shifting priorities without losing sight of deadlines.
  • Curious and growth-oriented, staying up-to-date on foundation trends, best practices, and funding opportunities.
  • Adaptive and resilient, ready to problem-solve and lead in dynamic environments.
  • Passionate about film as a tool for culture change and deeply committed to environmental progress.

All Candidates Must

  • Work legally in the United States and maintain proper work authorization throughout employment.
  • Currently live in the California Bay Area.
  • Able to assist with events, which includes lifting up to 35 lbs.
  • Work occasional evenings and weekends which could include travel.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check for all candidates who receive a contingent offer.
