The Red Stable is a local-made gift shop in German Village. We are a high volume shop looking for a part time/seasonal Retail Sales Representative to provide excellent customer service and meet sales quotas for our business. Knowledge of German Village and Columbus, Ohio is essential. Candidates with strong communication skills who can make customers feel welcome in our store will stand out. You will help identify client needs, present and answer questions about our products and services and recommend solutions. A positive attitude and a desire to promptly resolve potential customer issues or complaints will make you successful in this role. Ultimately, you will ensure that customers leave our store very satisfied and you will contribute to the store’s profitability.
Responsibilities
- Greet and direct customers
- Provide accurate information (e.g. product features, pricing and after-sales services)
- Answer and assist customers’ questions about products/services
- Conduct price and feature comparisons to facilitate purchasing
- Cross-sell products
- Inform customers about discounts and special offers
- Assist with website and phone orders
- Manage returns of merchandise
- Ensure racks are fully stocked and the shop is spotless clean
- Provide customer feedback to owners
- Stay up-to-date with new products
- Assist in inventory management, vendor product check-in, tagging and product sets
- Assist in social media daily posts
- Assist customers and tourists with visitor information about German Village, Columbus and Ohio
- Plant care & maintenance
Skills Requirements
- Proven work experience as a Retail Sales Representative, Sales Associate or customer service role required
- Understanding of the retail sales process
- Must be able to work the shop alone and with others
- Must be self-motivated
- Must be an honest person with integrity
- Familiarity with consumer behavior principles
- Knowledge of inventory management and stocking procedures
- Basic math and cash handling skills
- POS (Square) and Mac computer operations
- Track record of achieving sales quotas
- Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships
- Ability to perform in fast-paced environments with ability to multi-task
- Flexibility to work various shifts
- Professional telephone service skills
- Green thumb!
- High School diploma or greater
- BS in Marketing or related field is a plus
