As aSterile Processing Technician at UVA Health, you will:
Perform decontamination, cleaning, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instruments and equipment
Prepare and assemble surgical trays following established tray listings
Operate andmonitorsterilization equipment and document all parameters to ensure compliance and safety
Maintainaccuratetracking of instruments and trays usingbarcodesystems
Support Operating Room readiness by pulling cases, restocking supplies, and expediting instrumentation
Maintain a clean, organized, regulated, andcompliant work environment

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
Experience: 1 year or relevant experience preferred, Experience as CNA, EMT, PCT or CMA highly preferred.
Licensure: No certification required at hire, obtaining certain certifications within 6 months of hire may be required. See position requisition for details.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires sitting/standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive).Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 25-50lbs. Working in environment with fumes, chemicals, vibrations, heat, noise, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
The starting base rate for this role is $17.50 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.Benefits
