The Role:

As a Registered Nurse in UVA Health's Pediatric Emergency Department, your day is dynamic, fast-paced, and deeply impactful. You will care for pediatric patients across a wide range of acuity levels in a setting specifically designed to support specialized pediatric emergency care separate from the adult environment.

On a typical shift, you will:

• Delivercomprehensive emergency nursing careto patients under 21, including triage, assessment, intervention, and evaluation

• Collaborate closely withpediatric emergency physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams

• Respond tohigh-acuity and time-sensitive conditions,utilizingadvanced clinical judgment and rapid decision-making

• Providefamily-centered care, engaging and educating caregivers during stressful and often emotional situations

• Administer medications,initiateprotocols, and support procedures with a strong emphasis onsafety and pediatric-specific best practices
