Personal Trainer: Nationally recognized personal training certification such as ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA, etc. is required. Some experience administering fitness assessments and/or consultations. Some experience designing and leading personal training sessions in an individual or group setting. Ability to fully engage with students and members in vibrant activities that promote fitness and wellness. For participant safety, ability to identify the need for modifying movements and communicating and demonstrating these modifications to participants. Availability to consistently work with a number of clients per semester. Must have exemplary customer service skills and communication skills. Responsible for attending regularly scheduled staff meetings and in-service sessions. Group Fitness Instructor: Certification appropriate for the class format that will be taught. Certifications include, but are not limited to: ACE, ACSM, AEA, NASM, NSCA, Spinning, BOSU, TRX, Zumba, Yoga Alliance, Pilates, Barre. CPR certification is required. First Aid certification is preferred. Some experience leading group fitness classes. Some experience designing workouts and assembling appropriate music playlists. Ability to fully engage with students and members in vibrant activities that promote fitness and wellness. For participant safety, ability to identify the need for modifying movements and communicating and demonstrating these modifications to participants. Availability to commit to a regular schedule of classes each semester. Must have exemplary customer service skills and communication skills. Responsible for attending regularly scheduled staff meetings and in-service sessions. Location of position: Aquatic & Fitness Center, Slaughter Recreation Center, Mem Gym, North Grounds Recreation Center Compensation: $16-$28 Hourly Anticipated Weekly Hours: 5-8 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Current UVA student Experience: None Licensure: None PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers.
