What are the responsibilities and job description for the Faculty Wage Lecturer, Summer Design Institute (SDI) position at The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia?
The University of Virginia School of Architecture seeks qualified applicants to fill Faculty Wage Lecturer positions to teach and assist with the Summer Design Institute (SDI) courses in Summer 2026 (July 13, 2026 - August 7, 2026).
The SDI has been developed to give incoming students the methods, theories, and techniques to be successful in design studios, for landscape architects, architects, and urban planners.
Duties and responsibilities will be determined by Jeana Ripple, Chair of the Department of Architecture and Leena Cho, Chair of the Department of Landscape Architecture and will include:
Leading one section each within the below coordinated courses: (total of 3 credits)
ALAR 5010 Introduction to Design (1 credit)
ALAR 5020 Introduction to Visualization (1 credit)
ALAR 5030 Introduction to Design Theory Analysis (1 credit)
Applicants must have a master's or doctoral degree in a relevant field.
This is a part-time, tenure-ineligible position which does not carry benefits.
