Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Polymer Engineer to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and maintaining efficient production processes to ensure high-quality output and operational excellence. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement initiatives, streamline workflows, and enhance overall manufacturing performance. Duties:
1. Responsible for overseeing all production processes that may affect film quality.
2. Responsible for quality control and management of raw material.
3. Manages environmental and product safety.
Recording of processes, analysis, and control:
1. Data acquisition on key parameters and processes.
2. Inspecting and measuring extruder parts (screw, die, etc.) and assessing their impact on product quality.
3. Specifications and management of cooling equipment for manufacturing.
4. Evaluation of the impacts of the process on film quality and production rate.
5. Ensuring the consistency of processing parameters.
PROCESS AND PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT:
1. Assisting with the processing of new products.
2. Monitoring any changes in formulations.
3. Monitoring any modifications to the processes, design and specifications.
4. Evaluation of certain processes in relation to film quality and production throughput.
5. Recording changes in processing parameters.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND PRODUCT SAFETY REGULATIONS:
1. Liaison with government agencies and plastics associations.
2. Customer support on product security.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR MANUFACTURING AND SALES
l. Lab work
2. Maintaining testing, sampling, and laboratory protocols.
3. Supervision, guidance and training of lab technicians.
Skills
- 5 years of experience in polymer research and engineering/processes.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with industrial engineering expertise to optimize assembly lines and automation systems.
- Basic education: Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.
- Experience in project management and as a shift manager/process engineer.
