Job Title: General Purchaser Department: Distribution
Reports to: Purchasing Manager
Job Summary: The General Purchaser is to assist the Purchasing Manager. A General Purchaser is responsible for maintaining relationships with suppliers or vendors, placing orders for products based on inventory needs and ensuring timely delivery of products and materials.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge of the Company's products.
- Performing vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reducing operating costs and boosting efficiency.
- Maintaining cordial working relationships with vendors.
- Assist with annual data to determine purchasing needs and performing inventory management.
- Managing purchase orders, overseeing shipping schedules and maintaining purchase records.
- Working with warehouse staff to identify discrepancies from deliveries with purchase orders.
- Work with domestic manufactures for new products R&D and follow up the process and negotiate price/discount.
- Maintain positive and good standing relationships with domestic vendors.
- Maintain the Purchase Order log sheet.
- Execute daily fulfillment audits.
Responsible for additional duties and accountabilities that will be assigned as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Two years' purchasing experience
- Strong customer service skills with positive, friendly, and upbeat attitude.
- Strong computer skills, especially Word, Excel, Google Docs, and type 45 WPM
- Sharp attention to detail and ability to solve complex problems
- Interpersonal skills conducive to team building
- Excellent oral and written communication with customers, employees and vendors
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field
Physical Requirements:
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
