About The Recreation Academy:
The Recreation Academy brings hands-on enrichment and activity-based learning to kids ages 5–12 at local schools and community centers. Our focus is on helping children grow, connect, and have fun through engaging, structured programs.
Position Overview:
We’re looking for an Enrichment Facilitator for after school programs in Kirkwood, Missouri and surrounding areas. You’ll guide groups of elementary students through a variety of activities, using our lesson plans and equipment. This is a flexible, part-time contract role.
Types of Programs You May Facilitate:
After School Clubs: RC Racing 101, Minecrafter's Guild, Domino Mega Builders, Chess, Pokémon Trading Card Clubs, Kickball, Foam Tipped Archery & more.
Cadet Care: Supervised before/after school care with games and projects
School Break Camps: Camps during holidays and school breaks
Sports Clinics: Focused instruction in activities like basketball, wiffle ball, and dance
Mobile Field Trips: Special on-site programs at partner locations
Event Hosting: One-time events and private group activities
Key Responsibilities:
- Run weekly enrichment clubs, sports clinics, and special events for kids ages 5–12
- Supervise children, maintain a safe environment, and provide basic first aid if needed
- Complete required paperwork, upload group photos, and communicate with parents and staff
- Set up and take down equipment and program materials
- Encourage teamwork, confidence, and a positive experience for every participant
What We’re Looking For:
- At least one year of experience working with children (teaching, coaching, childcare, etc.)
- Dependable, insured transportation to Kirkwood-area sites
- Must pass a background check and complete all required training (CPR/First Aid, mandated reporter)
- Good communication skills and ability to lead a group
- 1099 contractor (responsible for own insurance and no taxes are taken out before you're paid)
Pay and Schedule:
- $15.00–$20.00 per hour, depending on experience and assignment
- Additional incentive pay for meeting program documentation requirements (up to $5 extra per hour)
- Guaranteed minimum of $30 per shift worked
