Shift: 1st Shift, 7:45a-4:15p WEEKENDS REQUIRED

Job Details:
- Coordinate and lead the work and activities of others, including scheduling programs and activities.
- Identify the developmental needs of assigned staff by coaching, mentoring or helping others to improve their knowledge or skills.
- Patient safety is addressed through required rounds completed timely. Patient room is clean and uncluttered. Observation may be assigned every 15 minutes, within reach of patient and/or 1:1 patient care.
- Identify self to patient and visitors promptly and respond to patient requests quickly.
- Respond to distressed patients in a non-threatening manner and attempt to understand the source of distress.
- Apply de-escalation techniques to help manage patient’s emotions, behavior and participation in treatment and assist with seclusion and restraints when necessary.
- Monitor behavioral improvements and reinforce these behaviors. Report changes and responses to treatment by communicating with team. Significant changes are reported to nurse immediately.
- Help with admissions and discharges, as needed.
- Provide guidance and direction to other staff members, including training of new staff, or otherwise assisting in day-to-day operations.
- Provide transportation for patient or coordinate transportation with appropriate staff member, as needed.
- Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
- Any other duties as instructed by management.
- Acquire and maintain all CEU, CPR, trainings, etc. as required by DCF and JCAHO.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year in the related field (preferred but not required)
- Must have a valid and clear Driver's license
- Must have a high school diploma or GED

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
