Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Peer Support Specialist, located in Lake Worth, FL. The Peer Support Specialist will provide direct support to individuals in recovery by offering guidance, resources, and encouragement. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with technical and customer support, facilitating recovery programs, maintaining detailed records, troubleshooting challenges, and fostering a safe and stigma-free environment. The role also involves active communication with individuals and their families to ensure personalized support throughout their recovery journey.
Qualifications
- Strong Communication and Customer Support skills to engage empathetically with clients and their families
- Analytical Skills to evaluate individual needs and identify appropriate recovery resources
- Proficiency in Technical Support and Troubleshooting to assist with recovery-related tools and resources
- Ability to foster a supportive and inclusive environment that aligns with the organization's mission
- Personal or professional experience in recovery is required
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in peer support or recovery are a plus
- Knowledge of recovery pathways and an understanding of stigma in recovery communities
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
