An established, regional commercial construction firm is seeking a Director of Construction Operations for its growing Louisville, KY division. This executive leader must have 20 years relevant experience that will drive operational success across a diverse portfolio of commercial builds. The ideal candidate will oversee project delivery, financial health, risk mitigation, and team development. You will partner with executive leadership to expand the regional presence and execute long-term corporate strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Executive Oversight: Drive concurrent commercial projects from early preconstruction through final closeout.
  • Portfolio Performance: Manage regional scheduling, financial health, quality benchmarks, and client relations.
  • Standardization: Refine operational workflows and establish project management best practices across teams.
  • Financial Stewardship: Collaborate with corporate finance on monthly forecasting, revenue projections, and cash flow analysis.
  • Risk Management: Evaluate bids, estimate accuracy, and contract terms to maximize project profitability.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary executive liaison for clients, developers, and project owners.
  • Business Development: Support market growth by participating in client presentations and relationship-building.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and develop project staff ranging from entry-level engineers to senior management.
  • Talent Development: Implement performance goals, recruit top-tier talent, and foster a collaborative team culture.

Qualifications

  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record managing commercial construction operations at an executive or regional level.
  • Business Acumen: Deep understanding of construction financials, contract negotiation, and operational strategy.
  • Team Building: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and retain high-performing project management teams.
  • Problem Solving: Strong ability to mitigate risks and navigate complex, fast-paced build environments.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency with modern enterprise project management software such as Procore and corporate financial reporting tools.
  • Adaptive Mindset: Ability to toggle seamlessly between high-level corporate strategy and day-to-day job site needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
